A ‘live’ pottery experience with Andy Mason

Come and enjoy the Japanese art of Raku at Whistlewood. An inspiring pottery process that brings lots of creative excitement.

You’ll be shown how to develop effective glazing methods, combining tradition, with Andy’s individual techniques. This weekend workshop will include some alternative & experimental techniques.

Anticipation then builds as your glazed pots go through dramatic kiln firings, finally emerging from smouldering ashes.A blend of art & alchemy, revealing the special qualities of Raku!

You’ll also be treated to a flavourful Japanese inspired lunch keeping your energy levels up, and taste buds tingling!

No previous experience required, just an interest and willingness to participate, and soak up the creative energy of Raku!

A Selection of 6 (biscuit fired ) pots provided for each participant.
