Volunteer

Whistlewood would not be possible without its fantastic volunteers. Everyone who volunteers plays a part in supporting our aims and objectives and everyone’s input is greatly valued. Our volunteering helps to ensure that we can run our 10 acre Woodland, both administratively and practically. In fact, you may be surprised to read that Whistlewood is 100% volunteer run!

Whistlewood Working Saturdays. We run regular Saturday afternoon volunteering usually from 1 – 4pm.

These Saturday sessions are relaxed, friendly and open to everyone whether you have lots of experience or are completely new to woodland work. Activities may include tree care, path maintenance, habitat creation, planting, coppicing, wildlife monitoring, and seasonal jobs around the site.

You’ll be working alongside others, learning practical conservation skills, spending time outdoors, and helping the woodland thrive. All abilities are welcome, and there will be a range of tasks to suit different interests and energy levels.

We are commited to accessibility for all and have Accessible parking spaces and an accessible toilet. We can adapt sessions to meet the needs of all.

Contact us by email or through Facebook to let us know you would like to come.

Take breaks whenever you need. Drinking water is encouraged and toilets are available on site (just a short walk away, up to around 5 minutes depending on where you’re working).

Ending together:
