Workshop leader Andy Mason has developed his technical skills and knowledge over many years, sharing his inspiration and insight of the contemporary practice and ancient rituals of Raku.
You’ll be guided through a variety of creative glazing methods, combining tradition with Andy’s individual techniques. Following dramatic ‘live’ kiln firings your pots gradually emerge from smouldering ashes revealing the special qualities of Raku – a fusion of subtle earthy tones, metallic effects and rich colours.
You’ll also be treated to a flavourful Japanese inspired lunch keeping your energy levels up, and taste buds tingling!
No previous experience required, just an interest and willingness to participate, and soak up the creative energy of Raku!
