Description

21st March 2026
1.30 to 3.30 pm – meeting in the Roundhouse
Gaelle, Finn and Rob (on behalf of the Nature Group)
We’re really happy to share that we’re kicking off the next stage of nature planning at Whistlewood – and we’d love your help.
To shape our Nature Plan for 2026, we’re inviting you to a 2-hour, hands-on Nature Workshop at Whistlewood. With Spring just beginning, it feels like a perfect moment to come together, share ideas, and decide what comes next for nature on site.
The session will be friendly, practical and collaborative. We’ll work around four simple pillars for nature:
Shelter – what habitats could we create, and where?
Food – where can we improve nectar, wildflowers and seasonal food?
Connectivity – how can Whistlewood better link into the wider landscape?
How we change hearts & minds – how do we help people notice, learn and care?
What will the afternoon look like?
We’ll begin together in the Roundhouse, working in small groups with maps, pens and post-its to share ideas and sketch possible actions. We’ll also take a gentle walk around the site to look at locations and check what’s feasible. Walking is optional — please only do what feels comfortable for you.
Together, we’ll:
. share ideas and local knowledge
. map where features could go
. identify priorities
. help shape and influence future volunteer activities
No expertise needed – children, families and friends are all very welcome. Please come dressed for the weather and in suitable footwear for being outdoors.

We really hope you can join us for what should be a creative and energising afternoon.

If you’d like to take part, please send a message to  Friday, 14 March.
It would really help if you would also let us know which theme you’re most interested in (Shelter, Food, Connectivity, or Hearts and Minds, so we can plan group sizes
