The principles of fair share and people care are reflected in the legal structure of Whistlewood Common. We wish access to our organisation and our activities to be open to all without any form of discrimination. A cooperative structure gives every member of our organisation an equal stake in our development, regardless of their level of financial commitment. Our structure means that we seek to make decisions by consent and with full regard for differing perspectives. Such governance minimises the risks associated with more hierarchical organisations and management approaches. It also encourages greater understanding of decisions, greater “buy in” and stronger commitment to the project.
