Whistlewood Earth Day – ish Celebration
19th April 2026
1 pm – 4 pm
Join us at Whistlewood to celebrate and appreciate this great planet we call our home.
Linking in with International Earth Day (22nd April), we are taking a low key approach this year and setting an intention for a relaxing afternoon for all.
Entry to our Earth Day Celebration is free for all but we would love it if you would let us know you are coming by booking a ticket above. At least we’ll know how many cars to cater for! (We positively encourage walking to the event though!). When booking your tickets please indicate the ages of any children you are bringing so we can ensure our activities are age appropriate – many thanks. Popping in on the day is also fine – everyone is welcome. Please bring your pennies with you as there maybe a small charge for some of the activities. Cards will be OK too but we prefer cash; as a not-for-profit organization cash goes so much further for us.

Introduction to Permaculture – 2pm with Katherine (Half an hour)

- Pledge banner – make a Green pledge on a flag and we’ll create a long banner
- Blossom Making – Paper craft with Katherine
- Plant Swop/Plant Sale – Paint a pot/Plant a Seed (for your children)

- Reading in Nature – self led – either bring your own favourite book or
- Take a look through the books at Whistlewood on Nature, Permaculture, Health and other topics, pick out your favourite and relax into reading
- Nature tour – take your family and some resources , out into the Woodland and learn more – self-led
- Bring your Hobby to Whistlewood
- Nature Framing – Self led
Food
- Bring a picnic and drinks and enjoy the space but please ensure you take your rubbish home.
