As the light starts to disappear, join Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku) guide, Helen Saunders of Connect to Nature to experience a gentle Forest Bathing walk during which invitations that
are aimed at helping you to relax, unwind and connect to nature are delivered. A very special time at beautiful Whistlewood Common where the human activity of the day has finished and the animals that we share this special space with start to appear! Forest Bathing is evidence based, based on research from Derby University’s Nature Connection Studies Unit and research from Japan and America.
Forest Bathing aims to:

- Increase concentration
- lower blood pressure
- improve short term memory
About Helen Saunders
Helen is passionate about facilitating nature connection for all. She is a fully trained Forest Bathing Guide through Nadur – Centre for Integrative Forest Therapy. She has a background in complementary therapies as a homeopath. For Helen: “Nature guides me whilst bringing me peace, stillness and nourishment for my body, mind and soul”.
Her Forest Bathing walks follow the University of Derby’s “Five Pathways to Nature Connection” – a research-based approach to Nature connection through the pathways of Senses, Beauty, Meaning, Emotion and Compassion.
