Description
Growing Together – Weekly – Fridays: 11.30 am – 2.30 pm
Trowels, Tea and Talk
You are welcome to join us for Growing Together, a small group that meet on Fridays to tend the Community Garden at Whistlewood. Growing mainly edibles together we have a small number of raised, wheelchair accessible beds and a polytunnel. We also grow directly into the ground using the “No Dig” gardening method.
We share our growing experiences and there is no set way that we grow, just organic being our only definite method. We share the joy of seeing seeds germinate and are looking forward to our first harvest as a group. You do not have to be an experienced gardener to join our group – all are welcome.
The mental and physical health benefits of gardening are so well documented and growing as a group brings many social benefits too.
Bring your own preferred drink in a flask and your lunch. We hope as the weather warms to cook with some of our produce too!
There is no pressure to stay for the length of the session. If you can only spare an hour you are welcome!
